What's it like to work with me

What my peers said about me

Manager: Ryan had a great year where he delivered a number of important initiatives for the team. It demonstrated that he was ready for the next level and we were able to promote him to SDE-II. My advice for him is to keep doubling down on his strength for deliver results and ownership.

Good grasp over the fundamentals. Has immense capabilities to express his knowledge clearly and concisely, makes easy for other to understand his ideas. Takes initiatives for the team to grow together.

Ryan is humble, but capable. Even when Ryan already has an optimal solution, he will respect any suggestions and take the time to talk through them to make sure the optimal solution is reached. This shows that he is a great team player, too. He is equally as willing to offer his assistance and help any teammate.

Ryan's super powers are Learn and Be Curious and Deliver Results.  Ryan has ramped up quickly on the team's systems and problem space.  Ryan is already delivering features that will have a huge impact in protecting Amazon and the customer experience.

Ryan's work on Gavel, a zero to one product, exemplifies his strengths in learn and be curious, insisting on high standards, and delivering results. Ryan, during the project, had to improve/fix other old systems connected to Gavel which required deep investigation/curiosity to achieve. Even with these roadblocks, his improvements and the full product was delivered early.

Ryan is a quick learner and he is also eager to learn about systems and technologies. He  delivers result quickly and gets himself unblocked by finding answers himself or by promptly reaching out to people. I am also impressed by his communication as he never shies away from expressing his point of view which helps others as well.
